Humane societies, rescues, and animal shelters, are frequently overwhelmed by the vast amount of animals in need whether arriving as strays, abandoned pets, or surrenders by previous owners. We all wish to help every animal in need, but the reality is that sometimes it cannot be done. In order to find homes for as many animals as possible, many organizations develop and follow procedures to ensure the animals with the highest chance of success receive priority. As a result, animals diagnosed with a terminal illness, deemed too aggressive, or very elderly may be euthanized due to the lack of space and resources necessary to support the too large number of animals arriving on their doorsteps.

Fur the Love of Animals will collaborate with local animal welfare organizations to help provide support and care to the dogs and cats that would be in danger of euthanasia due to behavioral concerns. While living on-site, these animals will find support through rehabilitation, patience, compassionate care, and lifelong sanctuary if it becomes clear remaining on-site would be in the best interest of the animal.
